Salina von Lana Grossa

Salina is a new bamboo yarn from Lana Grossa's summer '07 collection. It's a ribbon yarn that's very light and soft, and it stays that way after washing. Well, at least my gauge swatches are still really soft after a trip through the washing machine. I'll report back later when I've actually finished my summer top and washed that several times.

The yarn feels wonderful while knitting it up, and I can't wait to finish my top and actually wear it!

Salina ist ein neues Bambusgarn aus der Sommerkollektion von Lana Grossa. Es ist ein sehr leichtes und weiches Bändchengarn, und es bleibt auch nach dem Waschen schön weich. Jedenfalls war das bei den Maschenproben so, die ich bis jetzt gewaschen habe. Wenn ich mein Sommertop erstmal fertig gestrickt und öfter gewaschen habe, melde ich mich hier nochmal und berichte.

Das Garn fühlt sich beim Verstricken ganz toll an, ich kann es kaum erwarten, das Top endlich mal anzuziehen!

Mega Boots Stretch Softcolor

Mega Boots Stretch Softcolor yarns are part of Lana Grossa's Meilenweit line of sock yarns. 7% of elité, a new synthetic fiber, makes the yarn more elastic, leading to socks that fit better on your foot. The colorways of the Softcolor yarns are more subtle than the rather vivid colors of the Mega Boots Stretch yarn.

I've knit three pairs of socks from this yarn by now, and I love them! The socks fit my foot perfectly, the yarn is softer than Lana Grossa's regular sock yarn and the colours are gorgeous.

Mega Boots Stretch Softcolor gehört zu den Meilenweit Strumpfgarnen von Lana Grossa. Durch einen zusätzlichen Faden aus Elité ist dieses Garn besonders elastisch und passt sich gut der Fußform an. Im Gegensatz zu den Farben der Mega Boots Stretch-Garne sind die Farbübergänge bei den Softcolor-Garnen sanfter; das Garn ist in sich nicht so bunt.

Ich habe bis jetzt drei Paar Socken aus diesem Garn gestrickt und bin begeistert. Die Socken sitzen besser, fühlen sich weicher an und die Farben sind wunderschön.

Binario von Lana Grossa

Binario is a ribbon yarn by Lana Grossa made of cotton, rayon and polyamide. It's actually made up of two strands of yarn, a shiny one and a matt one. It's easy to knit, but the yarn balls tangle like crazy. No matter if I knit from the centre or from the outside of the ball, I've had to detangle each ball several times while knitting.

I've wound one into a center-pull balls now before I started knitting, we'll see if that helps.

Bianrio ist ein Bändchengarn aus Baumwolle, Viskose und Polyamid. Es besteht aus zwei Fäden (einem Glanzfaden und einem matten Faden), die nebeneinander laufen. Es lässt sich zwar gut verstricken, aber die Knäule zerfallen leider ziemlich schnell. Bisher musste ich noch jedes Knäuel mehrfach auseinandertüddeln; egal, ob ich von außen oder innen angefangen habe zu stricken.

Das nächste Knäuel habe ich jetzt vor dem Abstricken mal selbst neu gewickelt, vielleicht hilft's ja.

Before I started working in my LYS, the only thing I knit for quite a while were socks. Most of my sock yarn stems from this time, and most of it is Meilenweit by Lana Grossa.

Vor meiner Zeit im Wollladen habe ich eine Weile praktisch nur Socken gestrickt, daher stammen auch die meisten Reste, die ich noch so herumfliegen habe. Der größte Teil ist Meilenweit von Lana Grossa, beim Rest weiß ich es nicht mehr so genau.

Boston von Lana Grossa

Ich fange mal mit meinem derzeitigen Lieblingsgarn an: "Boston" von Lana Grossa. Ein angenehm weiches Dochtgarn aus Schurwolle und Kunstfasern, leicht zu verstricken und außerdem gut zum Nadelbinden geeignet, weil sich die Fadenenden gut miteinander verfilzen lassen.
